This story is not about any of us and it isn't about online blackjack either. Sammy J. submitted this one. It's his personal experience playing Blackjack in a brick and mortar casino in London. Sammy was playing a high-stakes Blackjack game from an 8-deck shoe. Over $20,000 was on the table and he had the attention of nearly the entire casino floor. Some people even stopped playing other games and surrounded his table. He later joked that they probably thought his luck would rub off on them. Whether it would or would not have, Sammy was too deep in concentration on his game to notice. He kept betting the table maximum on every single hand and he was winning nearly all his hands. The crowd grew bigger and cheered him on as his pile of chips grew larger.

He continued playing for more than an hour and had amassed an amazing $50,000! He had won so many chips that he he had to recruit the help of a Supervisor to get them all to the cashier. He kept a clear head, politely turned him down, and went to cash in his winnings.

Sammy revealed to us that he was using a Card Counting strategy to win more than he lost. He certainly did accomplish his objective. I asked Sammy if he had fun playing the game or if he was concentrating so hard on the card counting strategy that the fun was lost. He admitted that, at first, there was really no time for fun because of his deep concentration, but, when his chip stack reached $30,000 and the crowd applauded his victories, he began to relax and enjoy the game.
